Q: Where is the New Mexico State Fair located?
A: The New Mexico State Fair is located at EXPO New Mexico, 300 San Pedro Blvd. N.E. in the heart of Albuquerque. The best way to get here is to take I-40 and exit at San Mateo or Louisiana, then south to EXPO New Mexico, which occupies the square block between San Pedro to the west and Louisiana to the east, Lomas to the north and Central to the south. Remember: LEFT TURNS ARE NOT ALLOWED ONTO THE FAIRGROUNDS DURING FAIRTIME. RIGHT TURNS ONLY.

Q: Can I take the bus to the Fair?
A. City of Albuquerque Park & Ride bus service is the best, most economical way to get to the Fair. More details on this service will be available here soon. If you must drive to the Fair; from the Big I Interchange, take I-40 east to Louisiana and travel south across Lomas Boulevard. As you travel south of Lomas in the right (west) lane, you will be directed into the Gate 8 (Infield) entrance, where general parking is FREE.

Q: What time does the Parade start?
A: The Parade begins at 8:45am at the corner of Louisiana and Central and proceeds east towards Eubank. The Parade breaks up BEFORE it reaches Eubank.
Q: Where does one apply for employment for the Fair?
A: You can apply at the Labor Trailer located inside Gate 4 off San Pedro.
Q: Will there be a Park and Ride during the Fair?
A: State Fairgoers can use ABQ RIDE regular service from any of its four Park and Ride facilities. Four ABQ RIDE bus routes, including Rapid Ride Routes #766, #777 and Route #66 will drop off and pick up Fairgoers at Central and Louisiana and at other bus stops adjacent to the Fairgrounds.
Additional service in the form of a free, weekend shuttle at the Fair will be provided during the run of the Fair. ABQ RIDE will operate a free shuttle from Noon to 11:30 p.m. on the Fair’s two weekends (Sept. 13-14-15 and Sept. 20-21-22). It will pick up fairgoers inside Gate 9 (the Downs Casino Gate) and shuttle them to the Admission booths inside the State Fairgrounds. On Saturday, Sept. 14, the shuttle will not run until 2 p.m. due to road closures for the State Fair Parade.
Fairgoers can use four ABQ RIDE Park and Ride lots for regular bus service to the State Fairgrounds. The most recommended Park and Ride for Fairgoers is the closest one to the Fair, the Uptown Transit Center Park and Ride facility, located just south of Coronado Shopping Center. Plenty of room is available for parking. The other Park and Ride facilities are located at: Coors By-Pass and Ellison (Northwest Transit Center), Central and Unser (Central and Unser Transit Center), and Wenonah and Tramway.
Regular fares apply and do not include admission to the fair; $1-Adults (each way), Citizens age 62 or over, mobility-impaired and Students (10-18), 35 cents (each way). Accompanied children age 9 and younger ride free.

Several bus stops along Louisiana and Lomas also will be closed throughout the run of the Fair. From September 11 through September 22, for Route #157, all southbound stops on Louisiana from Lomas to Central will be closed, except for the near-side stop at Louisiana and Central. For Rt. #11, all eastbound stops on Lomas between San Pedro and Louisiana will be closed.
During both weekends of the Fair (from 3 p.m., September 13 through 4 p.m., September 15 and from 3 p.m., September 20 through 4 p.m., September 22), all southbound stops along Louisiana from Constitution to Lomas will be closed for Routes #157 and #766-Rapid Ride/Red Line. However, both routes will be stopping at Louisiana and Constitution.

A: The Fair contracts with the New Mexico State Police Department (uniformed and plainclothes) and private security firms to ensure the safest environment possible for staff and patrons.

A: You may approach any State Fair employee, uniformed police or security officer or report to the Public Safety Office located in the building to the right of the Box Car Stage just inside the turquoise awnings at the main entrance facing San Pedro.

A: Call 911 in case of ANY emergency. A first aid center is located at the southwest corner of the Midway entrance.
